Advantages to having the family away for a week

A carton of ice cream lasts more than two days. And I don't have to fight anyone for it.

One medium pizza lasts for four meals.

Things stay where I put them.

Laundry only needs to be done once in 7 days.

Cooking dinner, eating dinner, and washing up takes about 15 minutes all put together.

Cleaning up from breakfast takes about 1 minute. Which means it can be done in the morning, instead of coming home to dirty dishes.

I don't mind changing the toilet paper roll - because there is no one else around who I would expect to do it.

It's quiet. And if I don't want quiet, I can choose to put on whatever music or radio station I want.

Yep - I'm enjoying myself.

We watched Date Night a while back, and Steve Carrell's character was talking about his fantasies of getting a hotel room with two hot women, and Tina Fey's character admitted that most of her fantasies are about being alone.

I can only go so long before I miss the kids terribly, but a few hours to myself these days feels like heaven. I dream about having a week!
